3 Ways to Stage Your Home for Fall

10/20/2015

We generally think of summer as the prime time to buy and sell real estate. The weather is nice and the kids are in between school years, which can make for an easier transition for everyone. However, you can still sell your house successfully during the autumn months. Follow these tips to hang a Sold sign on your house this fall:

Improve Your Fall Curb Appeal

Your home’s exterior is the first thing that people see, so make sure it is looking its best. Place cheerful mums on your porch and decorate your doorway with pumpkins and corn stalks. Most people love the crispness and friendly decor associated with autumn, so help them create a vision of what their future home could look like.

Keep It Cozy

As the temperatures turn chillier, minds turn to all things cozy and warm. Emulate this in your home by setting your thermostat at a comfortable temperature. Include details such as cozy throws or decorative pillows in shades of burgundy or burnt orange. Light a pumpkin or apple-scented candle for an extra comforting touch.

Clean is Welcoming

Improve your chances of selling by keeping your yard and home pristine. This means rolling up and storing hoses, raking leaves, and trimming trees. Inside the home, make sure clutter is stacked neatly in decorative baskets. Vacuum your home frequently, paying special attention to the fireplace if you are using it.
